In either case, the attendee is still volunteering their e-mail address. When you join a webinar that doesn't have registration enabled, the attendee is still asked to enter their e-mail!
Doesn't Zoom understand how critical this data is for webinar hosts? E-mail is the only unique identifier for a webinar attendee. What right does Zoom have to withhold this data from paying webinar host customers? Sorry, Zoom, but it's MY webinar, not yours. You don't get to keep important data from me. Do you understand how many thousands of webinars don't use the Zoom registration system?
There are countless companies and organizations that use their own registration systems on their own web sites, or they opt not to use registration at all. Now, all of a sudden, they can't see the e-mail addresses of their attendees and have no idea who attended.
Not only that, but they can't even respond via e-mail to questions that were asked during the webinar but not answered live! This is a ridiculous decision that needs to be reversed.
Do all you want with Zoom Meetings, but Zoom Webinars are a completely different use case. You can't hide webinar attendee e-mails from webinar hosts, especially when attendees are already volunteering the data to join the webinar! Yeah, I use the email info to send recording link to attendees along with the slides.
This really sucks. Makes Zoom about half as useful as it used to be. Zoom will only show the email address in webinar reports if registration is enabled. This is to protect the PII of these users who join when registration is not required. Please make sure that if these addresses are needed, that registration is being used with your webinars. We currently use Wordpress to create pages. This must have taken affect March 1st from what I'm seeing in this thread as multiple customers are running into the same issue as we are.
We didn't receive a notification about this change therefore were not prepared for this before our next Webinar on March 7th. Our clients are now without an email address list in there reports.
Because the email addresses and names were captured when they click the webinar link, Zoom must have that data somewhere. Can we get that information from our Webinar which was March 7th? In situations where this data was not captured, this data is not recoverable.
Experiencing an major issue with this change in reporting practice, despite having an Eventbrite integration. We now find that registrations are no longer being transferred from Eventbrite to Zoom, and therefore attendee reports are devoid of emails. We are already in possession of registrant details, so cannot understand that the details of invited participants be withheld in the attendee reports when we have the integration in place. Also, as joining attendees don't tend to type their full name, they are often incomplete, typos are also common, or nicknames are used.
Therefore their name in the attendee report does not match the one in the registration details and identification for any follow up activities e.
The integration is a solution to this, but it seems the changes have broken this. If a host has an integration, they should be meeting the first point listed in the March update:. This is really disruptive and extremely disappointing that this integration is now broken or made redundant by this change.
What is the difference between having registration enabled or not? In either case, the attendee has to volunteer their e-mail, either to register when registration is required, or to join the webinar when registration is not required.
Why is the data now hidden in one case, but not the other? No logic! Zoom needs to reverse this illogical decision. Been depending on this for years and now we need to implement significant process changes. Once Registration is saved, you can save it as a template for future webinars. This works well for a weekly product demo, live roundtable, or a webinar series.
Your event is ready to be publicized! Copy the URL to send to attendees or share it via email, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms. Once the webinar has been scheduled and set up through your Zoom account, you're ready to invite attendees!
